About Yamazaki USA
Yamazaki USA is the US arm of Yamazaki Home, a privately held Japanese manufacturer whose history spans more than 100 years. For more than 60 years, the company has specialized in functional, design-led interior goods, including storage solutions, ironing boards, umbrella stands, and other housewares.
From its headquarters in Brooklyn, New York, Yamazaki USA sells through its Shopify storefronts, Amazon, and a network of wholesale partners. The company also operates in Canada and Europe and is expanding its product portfolio into furniture through a second brand, Apto.
As a distribution-heavy consumer goods business, Yamazaki USA depends on orders, inventory updates, fulfillment data, invoices, and other information moving reliably among NetSuite, ecommerce storefronts, Amazon marketplaces, wholesale partners, financial systems, and third-party logistics providers.
Challenge
As Yamazaki grew and expanded across ecommerce and wholesale channels, its integration requirements became increasingly complex. Every new storefront, marketplace, or trading partner introduced additional processes that needed to connect with NetSuite and Yamazaki’s fulfillment operations.
The company also wanted to run its own Amazon storefront and transition from Vendor Central to Seller Central to gain greater control over pricing, catalog management, and marketplace operations.
When Higashi joined Yamazaki nearly five years ago, the company’s integration environment in Celigo was still in its early stages. He took a more hands-on role in expanding the platform’s use across the business, beginning with Shopify and gradually adding additional ecommerce, EDI, and logistics workflows guided by a simple principle. “I believe NetSuite should be the system of record at the end of the day,” he said. “Celigo is what makes the integration layer painless and clean.”
That principle was tested by the scale of Yamazaki’s EDI operations. The company works with approximately 30 EDI trading partners, each with distinct business rules for purchase orders, acknowledgements, shipping notices, inventory updates, invoices, and other transactions. “With EDI, every partner and every document type has its own logic,” Higashi said. “Ten customers can easily become 50 different workflows to maintain.”
Higashi takes a hands-on role in managing Yamazaki’s integration environment. “I’m the hands-on one,” he said. “If there’s a problem, it’s on me to fix it.”
Coordinating warehouse and fulfillment activity with third-party logistics providers added another layer of operational complexity. Connecting each channel or partner through a separate tool could have created a fragmented environment with more systems to maintain and more potential points of failure.
Yamazaki needed one platform that could connect standard ecommerce processes with highly customized wholesale and logistics workflows, without adding a new tool for every requirement or increasing complexity.
Solution
Yamazaki built a Seller Central business from scratch and connected it to NetSuite using Celigo’s prebuilt Amazon Seller Central–NetSuite Integration App, which supports core Amazon order-to-cash processes while accounting for marketplace-specific requirements.
The prebuilt solution earned Higashi’s trust quickly. “Celigo’s Amazon-NetSuite Integration App was robust and straightforward, and it handled the edge cases very cleanly,” he said. “From there, I knew it was solid and had confidence using it.”
One edge case in particular stood out: selling the same SKU on Amazon US and Amazon Canada can require different marketplace identifiers. Celigo’s ability to accommodate those nuances helped Yamazaki manage its multi-region Amazon operations without building every workflow from scratch. “I was surprised that Celigo understood the limitations across Amazon marketplaces and had a solution built in,” Higashi said. “That made things much easier, especially with NetSuite.”
Alongside the Amazon–NetSuite Integration App, Yamazaki uses custom integration flows for processes that require greater flexibility, such as routing its wholesale EDI operation through Orderful to handle purchase orders, acknowledgements, advance shipping notices, purchase order changes, invoices, and inventory advice. Additional integrations coordinate fulfillment and inventory activity to Yamazaki’s third-party logistics providers.
The combination of packaged integrations for standard ecommerce requirements and custom logic for everything else means Celigo was easy to explain to people outside IT. Higashi regularly involves operations and accounting stakeholders when developing workflows. “I walk them through it step by step—this is how information moves between systems—so they at least understand the concept,” he said. “It really helps them, even people who aren’t technical at all.”
Results
As Yamazaki shifted its Amazon business from Vendor Central to Seller Central and expanded the number of processes running through Celigo, transaction volume increased significantly― 501% growth in just eight months. At the same time, the number of active production flows supporting the volume only doubled, allowing Yamazaki to scale its integration activity without creating a lot of additional complexity.
Yamazaki’s transaction success rate also stayed consistently strong at 99.9% in July 2026―above its three-year 98% average―demonstrating that an increase in activity did not result in a corresponding increase in integration exceptions. “It has made my day-to-day life in IT much easier,” Higashi said. “Celigo has become a big help—a real partner to our IT department.”
That reliability has also given Higashi confidence in the platform’s ability to support future growth. “Knowing that Celigo supports companies operating at a much larger scale gives me confidence in where we’re headed,” he said. “I can show this to our leadership team, and I’m sure it will make them feel more comfortable as we keep scaling.”
Looking ahead, Yamazaki sees Celigo as a foundation for continued ecommerce, EDI, and international growth. As the company continues to add channels, partners, and new integration requirements, Yamazaki expects Celigo to remain a core part of its integration architecture.
