Celigo named a Visionary in the 2024 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™

Celigo takes a stand:
Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

Our mission, commitments, and goals to the cause of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

On July 1st, 2021 Celigo TAS volunteered with Gleaners Food Bank (Indianapolis, IN.) to help with a drive-thru food pantry.

Why?

As a company, one of the values we hold most dear is fostering a safe, collaborative environment to bring out the best in us all. We believe, unequivocally, that everyone deserves to be in a place where they feel welcome as they are. Like so many around the world, we at Celigo were shocked and outraged by the senseless killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and other victims of police brutality this past year. Systemic racism is unfortunately alive and well, and the powerful social reaction highlighted how so many of us felt individually, and together as co-workers. We decided to take a stand as a result, because in the words of our CEO…

“It’s come to a point where we can no longer ignore what’s going on in the real world.”

What?

Since late May, we’ve spent a lot of time preparing, learning, and team building as a company to discover what we could do to help promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. Today, we want to announce Celigo’s Taking a Stand initiative with the goal to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.

We define diversity, equity, and inclusion as fostering a fair, safe, and collaborative environment where different personal experiences are valued, including race, color, religion, sex, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, family status, veteran status, national origin and ancestry, medical conditions, disabilities, genetic characteristics, and age.
The Taking a Stand initiative is a volunteer committee open to all Celigans, with strong representation from underrepresented voices within our company.
The purpose of the committee is to identify and work on racial justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives based on employee feedback, best practices, and models.
Within the Taking a Stand committee, we formed subcommittees dedicated to different goals that tie back to our mission. We’re pleased to announce the actions we’ve taken thus far:

Our commitments and goals

Build a culture of global diversity, equity, and inclusion at Celigo

We’ve made a series of diversity and inclusion training courses available to all employees.

We’ve invited all employees to participate in a roundtable to discuss and learn about unconscious biases.

We’ve partnered with Handshake to recruit diverse candidates.

Support communities and organizations

Celigo is currently pursuing volunteering and donation opportunities with numerous nonprofits that pursue a stated mission of equity and justice.

Build a sustainable infrastructure for diversity, equity, and inclusion

We’re building a process to recruit more volunteers for the initiative from within the company, and identifying the committee or initiatives that align with their interests.

Be held accountable to our commitments

We report our activities on a monthly basis to an oversight committee, composed of members of Celigo’s executive team.

We regularly update the company’s employees during our all hands meetings and our internal wiki.

Where we’re headed

The above covers the actions we’ve taken so far through December 31, 2020; we’ve defined longer term goals and initiatives throughout 2021 and beyond. Taking a Stand is not a temporary initiative, but a resolution we are committing to as long as there is inequality and injustice.

We are committed to making a difference and it was important to us to go on record and be held accountable to the commitments we make. Before making a public statement, we wanted to first make sure that we could truly hold ourselves accountable to any commitments we make publicly. We did not want to speak about a very serious issue that perpetually affects the lives of marginalized Americans without following up with measurable action. Although a single corporate entity can’t solve perpetual social problems, we do want to do our part where and how we can. Going forward, we pledge to our goals and to be more engaged with our global community so that we can be part of the solution in achieving social equity.

Got a question? We’d love to hear from you.
