About
Therabody specializes in wellness technology and consumer health products, best known for their percussive therapy devices like the Theragun, which aid in muscle recovery, pain relief, and overall physical wellness. They are recognized for blending innovative technology with therapeutic solutions to support health and performance.
The challenge
As Therabody became one of North America’s fastest-growing companies, the company faced increasing challenges in connecting their ERP, ecommerce, and third-party logistics (3PL) systems. Mulesoft was originally selected to create a unified infrastructure that could efficiently manage data flow across all operational areas, hoping for seamless communication between systems and supporting Therabody’s growth objectives.
In reality, Mulesoft proved costly and overly complex, requiring highly specialized technical experts to manage. The high costs of Mulesoft, coupled with its lack of low-code functionality, forced Therabody to depend on costly external consultants.
Additionally, the system struggled to handle large-scale, high-demand periods, such as the holiday season, and its inability to process large order batches created major bottlenecks. This forced Therabody to hire extra staff during peak times, incurring substantial seasonal costs.
Compounding the issue, integrations with 3PL partners were inconsistent and error-prone, causing data discrepancies and undermining visibility into real-time inventory and fulfillment. The architecture included multiple disconnected systems and points of failure, which slowed Therabody’s ability to onboard new partners or adapt to shifting business needs. As the company continued to scale, it became clear that the existing setup lacked the flexibility, speed, and simplicity required to support long-term growth—driving the decision to find a more agile and user-friendly integration platform.
The solution
When new leadership—Yash Murali (CTO) and Herry Stallings (EVP, Enterprise Technology)—joined Therabody, they conducted a full architectural review of its operations. During this evaluation, they looked at Boomi, Informatica, and Celigo as part of their simplification strategy, ultimately chose to go all-in with Celigo due to its low-code functionality, rapid time to value, and supportive partnership during the evaluation process. This hands-on engagement and validation from peers and 3PL partners using Celigo helped solidify their decision.
To address its integration challenges and support ambitious growth goals, Therabody took a phased approach to implementing Celigo across its business. The first priority was replacing Mulesoft and reestablishing NetSuite as the core ERP system. Through a project internally named “Tango Bravo,” Therabody moved all order management functions back into NetSuite Advanced Order Management and used Celigo as the integration layer to handle data flows. This laid the foundation for a cleaner, more efficient architecture and significantly reduced operational complexity.
With core order management stabilized, the team turned to fulfillment. Using Celigo, Therabody integrated multiple 3PLs —both domestic and international—to enable real-time inventory synchronization and automated fulfillment processes. This eliminated many of the manual workarounds they had relied on during peak seasons and improved visibility across the supply chain.
Next, Therabody streamlined its customer-facing systems. The sales team migrated its CRM, while customer support was transitioned from Salesforce Service Cloud to Gorgias. Celigo played a key role in both transitions, facilitating seamless integrations that enabled efficient return processing (RMAs) and a more cohesive customer experience.
As part of their retail and wholesale strategy, Therabody integrated Shopify for both point-of-sale (POS) retail transactions and a new B2B portal. Using Celigo, the team built and managed flows for syncing orders, products, customers, and inventory data between Shopify and the ERP. These integrations supported their physical retail locations, ecommerce events, and growing network of wholesale partners.
Therabody also expanded its presence on key digital marketplaces. They used Celigo to connect 13 Amazon storefronts and launched Walmart Marketplace, with eBay integration underway. These connections helped centralize order and inventory data across channels and improved efficiency in handling high-volume transactions. Additional tools like Celigo’s CloudExtend were deployed to connect Outlook to its CRM, giving sales teams better visibility into communications.
Looking ahead, Therabody plans to migrate its ecommerce operations from Salesforce Commerce Cloud to Shopify, further simplifying its tech stack. The team is also evaluating Celigo’s B2B Manager for EDI for onboarding new retail partners and considering how Celigo might support broader data warehouse initiatives. By placing Celigo at the heart of their integration strategy, Therabody has created a scalable, agile foundation that supports innovation and operational excellence.
The bottom line
Therabody saw immediate and measurable results after transitioning to Celigo.
“Mulesoft was a very heavy lift in terms of resources and cost,” said Herry Stallings, EVP, Enterprise Technology. “With Celigo, the total cost of ownership is lower, and speed to market is faster. All in all, it was the right decision from every angle we looked at.”
Operational efficiency improved dramatically. The company eliminated the need for manual order processing during peak seasons, which had previously required hiring three additional staff members at a cost of $60,000 just to keep up. With Celigo automating key integrations across systems, Therabody entered the holiday season with greater confidence, stability, and no added headcount—a marked improvement from prior years.
Therabody also gained real-time data visibility and clean, centralized architecture that reduced the number of potential failure points and improved accuracy across order, inventory, and fulfillment data. The platform’s low-code/no-code environment empowered in-house and offshore teams to manage and build flows independently, reducing reliance on expensive, specialized resources and cutting the total cost of ownership.
“Celigo is truly low-code, no-code. It doesn’t require you to be extremely technical; we’re able to support and build on it without needing a PhD, unlike Mulesoft,” said Murali. “We deployed 185 flows in less than a year, which is unheard of. People told us we were crazy to try, but the speed we’ve been able to move with Celigo has been amazing.”
Most importantly, the business is now positioned to scale. With a flexible integration foundation in place, Therabody can confidently pursue its goal of doubling revenue in the next 3–5 years, launch new channels like eBay and TikTok, and expand globally—knowing their backend systems can support the growth.
“The Celigo team’s support has been incredible. We’re aligned in our vision, and they’ve been there every step of the way, giving us the confidence to keep pushing forward,” said Stallings.
