Implementing a reliable Microsoft Dynamics 365 EDI integration is crucial for organizations that need to scale their supply chain operations and meet the complex requirements of their trading partners.

While Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management (SCM) offers robust ERP capabilities, it does not natively support EDI standards such as X12 and EDIFACT.

As a result, many businesses struggle with fragmented systems, manual processes, and brittle custom scripts.

Here we’ll discuss how a modern Microsoft Dynamics 365 EDI integration solution helps automate EDI workflows, improve data accuracy, and eliminate reliance on managed services, enabling full control and visibility across B2B transactions.

Watch the video demo

EDI integration for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management

Celigo’s B2B Manager for EDI runs natively within your existing integration architecture via the Celigo Integration Platform (iPaaS). It’s not a bolt-on tool or a managed service. It’s embedded, giving your internal team full visibility and control across all EDI workflows.

This is a critical distinction.

Black-box third-party managed services or bolt-on middleware typically sit outside your integration architecture. They often require vendor involvement for changes, limit your ability to troubleshoot or optimize flows, and add complexity to your tech stack.

By contrast, a self-service, embedded integration platform like Celigo enables your team to configure, monitor, and scale EDI workflows directly, without relying on external vendors or custom scripts.

  • No external queues

  • No hand-coded logic

  • No third-party maintenance dependencies

The Celigo platform also supports secure protocols, including AS2, FTP, SFTP, and VAN, for seamless, standards-compliant communication with trading partners.

Scalable EDI integration features

Below are the key capabilities that enable teams to build, manage, and scale EDI workflows within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management, without relying on custom code or outsourced managed services.

Reusable EDI integration components

One of the key strengths of Celigo’s B2B Manager is its reusability. Core integration components (such as mappings, exports, and transformation steps) can be configured once and reused across multiple trading partners and document types. This reduces duplication, improves consistency, and accelerates deployment.

Example: An export step from an 850 Purchase Order flow configured for Amazon can be reused for other trading partners, such as Target or Costco, thereby minimizing time and effort during onboarding.

Centralized trading partner profile management

Each trading partner is configured using a dedicated profile, which includes:

  • EDI formats (X12, EDIFACT)
  • Qualifiers and identifiers
  • Control numbers and validation rules

This profile-based approach simplifies onboarding and ensures compliance without custom scripting.

Accelerated trading partner onboarding

One of the most time-consuming aspects of managing EDI is the manual setup required for each new trading partner. With Celigo’s Microsoft Dynamics 365 EDI integration, onboarding is dramatically simplified through a library of prebuilt connectors and pre-mapped EDI transaction sets.

Celigo supports major retailers and distributors out of the box, including:

  • Amazon

  • Walmart

  • Target

  • Costco

  • And many more

Each connector comes with ready-to-use mappings for common document types—such as 850 purchase orders, 856 advanced ship notices, and 810 invoices, aligned to each retailer’s specific formatting and validation requirements.

Trading partners are configured using standardized profiles, which streamline setup by defining:

  • EDI versions (X12, EDIFACT, etc.)

  • Qualifiers and identifiers

  • Control numbers, acknowledgment rules, and validation logic

This profile-driven approach eliminates the need to recreate business logic or perform repetitive data mapping for every new partner.

As a result, integration teams can quickly onboard new retailers and suppliers without needing to write custom scripts or escalate to managed service providers.

By reducing manual configuration and leveraging reusable components, businesses can scale their EDI operations efficiently, without adding technical headcount.

Real-time EDI validation and field mapping

Celigo includes a built-in EDI parser that validates both inbound and outbound documents in real time, before they are processed by Microsoft Dynamics 365 or other target systems.

Key features:

  • Live and sample file testing

  • Structured JSON preview of EDI documents

  • Drag-and-drop mapping interface for field-level configuration

Supported document types include:

  • 850 – Purchase Orders

  • 997 – Functional Acknowledgments

  • 856 – Advanced Shipment Notices (ASN)

  • 810 – Invoices

NetSuite EDI Integration for EDIFACT: Modernize Global B2B Transactions

    Published Oct 1, 2025 Updated Jan 27, 2026
    Laurie Smith

    Sr. Product Marketing Manager, Content

    Laurie Smith

For companies running NetSuite and trading with European or international partners, integrating EDIFACT-based EDI can be a significant challenge. Traditional EDI solutions are often complex, costly, and lack visibility, especially when layered on top of NetSuite.

Modern NetSuite EDI integration eliminates these roadblocks by automating the exchange of critical B2B documents (such as purchase orders, invoices, shipment notices, and more) without relying on manual entry, legacy systems, or disconnected middleware.

    Watch the demo

Here, we’ll explore how EDI integration with NetSuite simplifies EDIFACT compliance, streamlines B2B operations, and prepares your business for growth in a global supply chain.

Automate EDIFACT EDI operations in NetSuite

Manually processing EDIFACT documents often results in processing delays, missing data, and SLA violations. Each inbound order or outbound invoice becomes a potential failure point requiring IT intervention.

Automating EDIFACT operations in NetSuite reduces these friction points and provides a stable, scalable integration foundation.

    Key capabilities include:

    • Automated conversion of inbound EDIFACT into NetSuite-native records
Incoming ORDERS documents are parsed and translated directly into Sales Orders—no CSV imports or third-party transformation tools required.
    • Scheduled generation of outbound EDIFACT documents
Based on NetSuite data and configurable criteria, the system schedules the generation of outbound documents like INVOIC, DESADV, and ORDRSP—fully formatted to meet each trading partner’s compliance requirements.
    • Partner-specific transformation and validation logic
Apply conditional logic, field-level mapping, and mandatory segment enforcement based on each partner’s specifications to reduce rejections and chargebacks.
    • Built-in error handling and orchestration tools
Exception handling is embedded in the flows, allowing for automated retries, conditional logic paths, and alerting through email, or other systems that can be integrated—without requiring support tickets.
    • Secure EDI transmission via AS2, FTP/SFTP, FTPS, or VAN
All transport options meet industry-standard compliance requirements, ensuring safe and timely delivery of EDI documents across supplier ecosystems.

Whether you’re transacting with Sephora UK, AAFES, or any EDIFACT-based partner, automation reduces the IT burden and improves operational agility.

Reusable EDI profiles for scalable trading partner integration

Integrating with one trading partner is challenging enough. Doing it for dozens (each with different file formats, schedules, and data rules) can overwhelm internal teams.

Celigo solves this with prebuilt trading partner connectors, each containing centralized EDI profiles and documents tailored to specific partner requirements.

Each profile includes connection settings, control segments, document mappings, and transformation logic, all reusable across multiple flows to eliminate redundant setup.

    This approach lets you:

    • Accelerate new trading partner implementation
    • Customize partner profiles as needed
    • Reduce compliance issues through centralized validation and mappings
    • Standardize processing while maintaining flexibility
    • Scale integrations without rewriting flows

    Each trading partner profile includes:

    • Communication method (AS2, FTP, SFTP, VAN) and endpoint credentials
    • Supported flows (ORDERS, ORDRSP, INVOIC, DESADV, ORDCHG, etc.)
    •  UNB/UNG segments and control number handling
    • Partner-specific mapping rules and validations

Onboarding a new partner? Start with a prebuilt trading partner connector, tweak configurations, and activate the flow. What used to take weeks now takes hours.

    Prebuilt EDI templates for NetSuite

Implementing EDIFACT EDI from scratch is time-consuming and risk-prone.

Celigo simplifies this process with prebuilt templates designed specifically for NetSuite.

    Supported EDIFACT transactions:

How to build scalable NetSuite EDI integrations

      Published Aug 21, 2025 Updated Jan 27, 2026
      Tim Heeter

      Solutions Consultant

      Tim Heeter

When managing supplier-side EDI in NetSuite, teams often run into the same challenges: each trading partner uses slightly different formats, EDI specs change regularly, and expectations around processing purchase orders, fulfillments, invoices, and acknowledgments leave little room for error.

NetSuite EDI integration automates these document exchanges, reducing manual work, errors, and delays while enabling real-time visibility across systems.

Celigo’s NetSuite EDI template provides a structured, scalable approach to these challenges. Instead of building one-off flows for each trading partner and transaction type, the template offers a modular foundation where standardized logic is reused across partners, and partner-specific requirements are isolated in configurable components.

      NetSuite EDI template overview

In this walkthrough, you’ll learn how to use the NetSuite EDI template to configure, customize, and deploy transaction flows.

Each supported EDI transaction, such as 850 (Purchase Order), 856 (Advance Ship Notice), or 810 (Invoice), is delivered as a base flow. These flows can be cloned, customized, and versioned per trading partner without affecting the shared core logic. This makes it easier to onboard new partners, apply updates, and maintain consistency across a growing EDI footprint.

Configuration, including field mappings, EDI schema selection, validations, error handling, and transport method, is handled entirely within the UI. No scripting, middleware, or external tools are required. That makes initial deployment faster and enables integration and operations teams to manage updates without writing code or depending on third parties.

The result is a NetSuite EDI integration model built for long-term scale: maintainable, auditable, and well-suited to high-volume, multi-partner supplier ecosystems.

      Included EDI transactions

The template supports core X12 transactions mapped directly to NetSuite-native records and is fully compatible with both X12 and EDIFACT standards, making it effective for domestic and international trading partners alike.

It includes six prebuilt X12 transaction flows, each partially configured and ready to map to NetSuite records.

      850 – Purchase Order

Creates NetSuite Sales Orders from inbound EDI 850s. Supports SDQs, UOM conversion, and partner-specific fields.

      855 – PO Acknowledgment

Sends acknowledgments from NetSuite Sales Orders. Configurable for full/partial acceptance or line-item-level updates.

      856 – Advance Ship Notice

Generated from Item Fulfillments. Supports carton/pallet hierarchy, SSCCs, and external 3PL enrichment.

      810 – Invoice

Converts NetSuite Invoices into EDI 810s. Includes tax, freight, discounts, and custom segment handling.

      860 – PO Change Request

Applies updates to existing Sales Orders from inbound 860s. Supports merge, replace, or manual review logic.

      997 – Functional Acknowledgment

Confirms receipt of inbound documents. Tracks control numbers and supports compliance tracking.

How to configure NetSuite EDI flows for scale

The template supports cloning and customizing flows for each trading partner. This structure allows you to scale across dozens or hundreds of partners while keeping maintenance overhead low.

      To configure a flow:

      • Clone a base flow (e.g., 850 Purchase Order) into a new flow group for a specific partner
      • Assign an EDI profile, such as Costco 4010 or Target 4030
      • Map parsed EDI JSON fields to NetSuite records using the visual UI
      • Define partner-specific routing or validation logic as needed
      • Repeat this process for each relevant transaction type (e.g., 855, 856, 810)

If a partner updates their spec, you only update that partner’s flow; shared logic across other flows remains unchanged.

      Built-in monitoring and error management

Each NetSuite EDI flow built from the template includes integrated monitoring and diagnostic tools that reduce troubleshooting time, support audit readiness, and eliminate the need for custom scripts or third-party dashboards.

      Several key outcomes include:

      Faster issue detection
Real-time execution tracking shows which steps succeeded or failed, how long each phase took, and where failures occurred—helping teams respond before issues escalate.

      Root-cause visibility
Field-level error diagnostics are tied directly to EDI segments (e.g., invalid N1, missing DTM), eliminating the need to inspect raw payloads or guess where problems occurred.

      Immediate resolution and retry
Failed flows can be reprocessed directly from the dashboard after corrections—no manual file reloads or re-entry required.

      Complete transaction traceability
Each document is indexed by control number, making it easy to search for, trace, and verify the lifecycle of any transaction, applicable for operations, finance, and support teams.

      Change tracking and rollback
Version history and audit logs track all changes to mappings, schema definitions, and routing logic, enabling rollbacks and ensuring compliance.

These tools allow teams to manage NetSuite EDI transactions with confidence and clarity, at scale, and without external dependencies.

      Transport methods and partner profiles

The NetSuite EDI template supports a range of standard transport protocols, allowing teams to choose the method that matches each partner’s requirements:

      • AS2 – Secure, point-to-point EDI messaging
      • FTP/SFTP – Common file-based transport with credentialed access
      • VAN – For partners still using value-added networks
      • API-based exchange – For partners that support direct integration outside traditional EDI

Each partner can use a different transport, and these settings are defined per connection, without affecting core flow logic.

Partner profiles are managed in a shared catalog, which includes:

      • Predefined EDI schemas (e.g., Costco 4010, Target 4030)
      • Logo and metadata for visual clarity
      • Connection configuration settings
      • Schema version tracking

This approach simplifies onboarding, maintains consistency across flows, and reduces manual configuration for each new trading partner.

      Advanced extensions

While the template covers core supplier-side EDI transactions out of the box, it can be extended to support more complex workflows and partner-specific logic.

      Common extensions include:

      SDQ routing and multi-location fulfillment
Handle orders with multiple ship-to locations using standard SDQ breakdown logic, without creating separate flows per destination.

ASN packaging logic with 3PL data
Pull packaging hierarchy, weights, and SSCC details from external 3PL systems and embed them into EDI 856 flows.

      Custom validations for inbound documents
Block documents that fail business rules (e.g., missing location codes, unexpected UOMs) before they reach NetSuite.

      JavaScript-based field transformations
Apply advanced logic where low-code mapping isn’t sufficient—e.g., dynamic date conversions, conditional data reshaping.

Role-based access and flow deployment controls
Limit who can configure, deploy, or edit flows based on team roles, supporting audit and environment governance.

These extension points allow teams to support non-standard partner requirements, legacy processes, or particular compliance scenarios, without losing the benefits of the base template structure.

      Benefits of NetSuite EDI integration

The template delivers benefits across teams responsible for building, managing, and supporting supplier-side EDI in NetSuite:

      Faster onboarding
Launch new partner integrations without building from scratch—using prebuilt flows and profiles.

      Reduced maintenance overhead
Update mappings, logic, or partner schemas without affecting shared flows or other configurations.

      Improved visibility and control
Monitor execution in real-time, trace errors to exact EDI segments, and manage reprocessing without leaving the platform.

      Support for internal ownership
No scripting or external middleware required—flows are managed directly by integration or operations teams.

      Consistent governance
Centralized versioning, audit trails, and role-based access ensure changes are tracked and secure.

This approach helps teams deliver EDI functionality that’s not just working, but sustainable as the business grows.

A scalable foundation for NetSuite EDI

The NetSuite EDI template gives teams a structured and scalable way to manage B2B transactions across dozens of trading partners, all within a single, governed platform.

Whether you’re implementing your first 850 or maintaining a complex network of 856s and 810s, the template provides the control, consistency, and visibility needed to scale NetSuite EDI without added complexity.

How to automate buffer stock for marketplace inventory accuracy

      Published May 21, 2025 Updated Jan 16, 2026
      Tyler Lamparter

      Portfolio Strategist

      Tyler Lamparter

Overselling on marketplaces like Amazon, Shopify, or Walmart can lead to canceled orders, delayed shipments, and account penalties. To maintain multichannel inventory accuracy and avoid these risks, many businesses implement buffer or safety stock logic to prevent overstating available inventory across external sales channels.

Here, we’ll walk through automating buffer stock logic using Celigo. You’ll see how to configure dynamic buffer rules and sync adjusted inventory levels from your ERP to external channels like Shopify without relying on manual updates or hard-coded logic.

      Buffer stock automation demo

In this demo, we’ll show how to automate buffer stock logic between an ERP (using NetSuite) and a commerce platform (using Shopify)—a setup that can be adapted to other systems as well.

      Improve multichannel inventory accuracy

Buffer stock is a simple but effective way to prevent overcommitting inventory across channels. Instead of syncing your full available quantity to marketplaces, you hold back a set percentage or number of units as a safety net. This helps protect against miscounts, fulfillment delays, and demand spikes that can lead to overselling.

It’s especially useful when you’re syncing inventory to multiple marketplaces or relying on external 3PLs, where a single delay or discrepancy can impact customer experience and marketplace performance.

Common marketplace challenges solved by buffer stock

      • Overselling penalties from Amazon, Walmart, and others
      • Inventory sync lags that cause canceled orders
      • Manual reconciliation tasks that slow operations
      • Stockouts triggered by demand spikes or errors

      Why automate buffer stock logic

Manual buffer updates don’t scale. As your channels, warehouses, and SKUs grow, automation becomes critical to maintain inventory accuracy and avoid errors.

With Celigo, you can apply buffer rules in your ERP or within integration flows—configuring them by sales channel, product type, or location reliability. This reduces manual effort and ensures consistent, channel-specific inventory control as your operations expand.

You can configure rules based on:

      • Sales channel (e.g., Amazon vs. Shopify)

      • Product type or inventory velocity

      • Fulfillment location reliability

This approach reduces errors, eliminates repetitive work, and adapts as your business grows.

When buffer stock automation makes the biggest impact

Automation is especially valuable in environments where inventory is distributed across multiple systems or fulfillment locations.

      • You sell on multiple marketplaces
      • You operate multiple warehouses or 3PLs
      • You want to avoid hardcoding logic across systems

Buffer stock isn’t just a workaround—it’s a scalable inventory control strategy. With Celigo, you can automate and tailor buffer logic to fit your operational needs, reducing risk and maintaining sync across your ecommerce stack.

SAP EDI integration for supply chain

        Published May 19, 2025 Updated Jan 16, 2026
        Marian Wagner

        Solutions Consultant

        Marian Wagner

Businesses, particularly trading partners, establish a standardized data format to facilitate clear communication — this format is known as Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). EDI is a digital technology used for business-to-business (B2B) transactions and is available in multiple versions, with X12 and EDIFACT being the most common. These transactions, or messages, encompass product details, inventory updates, pricing, purchase orders, sales orders, shipments, invoices, and transfer orders.

Celigo’s B2B Manager for EDI provides built-in tools to integrate, manage, and monitor EDI workflows across all trading partners.

And that’s just the beginning — there’s much more to explore within the platform.

        Trading partners overview

Trading partners are the external organizations with which you exchange business documents: suppliers, retailers, manufacturers, marketplaces, logistics providers, and 3PLs. Each partner has its own technical specifications, EDI requirements, and data formats, which can make managing these relationships highly complex, especially when scaling operations.

Whether you’re sending purchase orders to Costco, receiving ASNs from DHL, or syncing invoices with Amazon, EDI ensures these transactions are automated, standardized, and accurate. However, trading partners don’t just “plug in”; each requires configuration, testing, and ongoing monitoring to ensure smooth B2B communication.

Celigo’s B2B Manager simplifies trading partner onboarding and management by providing:

        • Reusable EDI profiles to standardize partner-specific logic

        • Prebuilt templates for common EDI flows (850s, 855s, 856s, 810s, etc.)

        • Centralized error management and monitoring to identify and resolve issues quickly

        • Scalable architecture to support dozens or hundreds of partners simultaneously

With Celigo, managing 10 or 100+ trading partners is no longer a manual IT burden. You get full visibility and control, enabling your team to onboard new partners quickly and scale confidently without third-party bottlenecks.

How does EDI automate my SAP business processes?

There are multiple benefits to integrating systems via EDI.

        • Save time: Due to standardization, it is clear what information each trading partner requires and when that is required. The data can be transferred at any time, as often as needed, minimizing the risk of delays.
        • Fewer errors: The risk of errors resulting from manual data transmission is much lower due to less human intervention.
        • Less manual work: Employees can focus on more important tasks; Redundant tasks can and should be automated to maximize efficiency.
        • Scalability: Ability to handle an increased volume of transactions for many trading partners.

        EDI workflow example

A trading partner workflow usually contains inbound, outbound, change, and acknowledgment transactions. Each EDI transaction type (X12 and EDIFACT) has its own number and name.

        • EDI 832 (EDIFACT PRICAT): Sales Prices and Product Catalog from Supplier to Buyer
        • EDI 850 (EDIFACT ORDERS): Purchase Order from Buyer to Supplier
        • EDI 860 (EDIFACT ORDCHG): Purchase Order Change from Buyer to Supplier
        • EDI 855 (EDIFACT ORDRSP): Order Response and Acknowledgement from Supplier to Buyer
        • EDI 856 (EDIFACT DESADV): Advance Shipment Notice (ASN) from Supplier to Buyer
        • EDI 846 (EDIFACT RECADV): Goods Receipt notification from Buyer to Supplier
        • EDI 810 (EDIFACT INVOICE): Invoice from Supplier to Buyer

        Which systems can be integrated?

A supply chain process typically involves multiple parties, each with multiple systems (cloud and on-premise applications) that utilize various connectivity methods (API, EDI, HTTPS, FTP, VAN, AS2, etc.) to communicate with one another. Often, this communication is still done manually by an employee (downloading files, editing documents, sending files, emails, and phone calls).

        • SAP ERP systems and others ( SAP Business One / B1, SAP S/4HANA, SAP Business ByDesign, Microsoft Business Central, Oracle NetSuite, Xentral, Sage)
        • Procurement systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, SAP Business Network Commerce Automation, Tipalti, Coupa, Procurify)
        • Warehouse Management Systems / WMS (e.g., Mintsoft, ShipHero, SEQOS)
        • POS / online shop systems (e.g., Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, Magento / Adobe Commerce Cloud)
        • Payment Gateways (e.g., PayPal, Stripe, Braintree, Klarna, Adyen)
        • Marketplaces (e.g., Amazon, JD.com, eBay, Zalando, Wayfair, ASOS)
        • Retailers (e.g., Amazon, Walmart, Costco, ALDI, Carrefour)
        • Third-Party-Logistics (3PLs) (e.g., Amazon, DHL, UPS, Kuehne + Nagel, FedEx, DSV, DB Schenker)

        What technologies can be used?

There are multiple ways an EDI message can be transmitted. Let’s call these the communication channels. The usual ones are file-based via an sFTP server, AS2, VAN, REST APIs, or SOAP-based web services. Celigo’s B2B Manager can connect to all of these and enable communication between the different trading partners’ systems.

        Is it always EDI?

EDI is only one of many specifications or mediums that can be used for automated data exchange. Other examples are XML, CSV files, and JSON. In some use cases, it is required to transform the data or translate it from one file type into another between the export and the import, which can also be done on integrator.io.

Modern EDI integration connects ERP systems like NetSuite and SAP with trading partners through real-time, automated data exchange, streamlining procurement, accelerating supply chain operations, and eliminating manual errors.

Procurement and supply chain teams today rely on speed, accuracy, and seamless coordination with vendors. However, legacy EDI tools and disconnected processes—like spreadsheets, email, and manual uploads—slow down order processing, increase errors, and limit scalability.

Real-time EDI integration enables the automated exchange of documents such as purchase orders, shipment confirmations (ASNs), and invoices directly within ERP systems, reducing operational overhead and supporting scalable, accurate vendor communication.

Learn how Celigo’s B2B Manager for EDI gives organizations complete control over their EDI workflows, offering real-time automation, transparency, and flexible configuration for key transactions.

          EDI integration in action

In this demo, you’ll see how to automate the full vendor-side EDI lifecycle with Celigo’s B2B Manager, including how to configure, run, and monitor EDI transactions directly within your ERP for greater control and visibility.

          Why manual procurement workflows fail

Procurement teams face constant friction from outdated, manual processes. Emailing purchase orders and relying on vendors to rekey the data introduces delays and errors. Responses, shipments, and invoices are often tracked in disconnected spreadsheets, making it difficult to stay organized or scale efficiently.

Without real-time visibility into order status and vendor performance, teams are left in the dark, wasting valuable time reconciling records across multiple systems. As vendor networks grow, these issues scale, creating more errors, delays, and overhead.

End-to-end EDI integration and procurement automation

Automating vendor-side EDI processes helps streamline procurement workflows, reduce manual effort, and improve accuracy across transactions.

From onboarding suppliers to processing invoices, each step can be managed within your ERP for greater visibility and control.

          • Onboard vendors quickly with reusable EDI profiles that define formats, IDs, and connections

          • Send purchase orders (EDI 850) instantly and in vendor-compliant formats

          • Receive acknowledgments (EDI 855) and auto-update ERP order statuses

          • Track shipments (EDI 856) with automated inventory updates and fulfillment sync

          • Process invoices (EDI 810) into vendor bills for faster reconciliation and payment

          • Monitor and manage all transactions from a centralized, real-time dashboard

          Benefits of EDI integration

There are many benefits of EDI integration, including:

          • Faster vendor onboarding
          • Fewer manual errors
          • End-to-end visibility into procurement and logistics
          • Reduced reliance on costly EDI service providers
          • More accurate, scalable supplier communication

            Scale procurement without the overhead

Manage more vendors, process higher order volumes, and handle complex invoicing—without adding headcount.

By automating every EDI touchpoint, you accelerate procurement cycles, eliminate manual bottlenecks, and build a supply chain operation that scales with your business.

Streamlining EDI integration with Celigo’s B2B Manager

            Published Sep 17, 2024 Updated Jan 15, 2026

Celigo’s B2B Manager is a robust and scalable electronic data interchange (EDI) solution that simplifies the integration process with trading partners, reduces implementation timelines, and enhances data accuracy.

Businesses can reduce the time and cost associated with EDI integration. The Celigo platform has prebuilt trading partner connectors and ERP integration templates, allowing organizations to implement EDI flows and communications quickly. This cuts down on the custom development required for each trading partner, making the entire process faster and more cost-effective.

            B2B Manager demo

Connectivity options: AS2, FTP, and VAN connectors

The B2B Manager supports EDI communication protocols, including AS2, FTP, SFTP, and FTPS. The platform also features a value-added network (VAN) connector, allowing users to connect to trading partners using this preferred connectivity method.

            EDI dashboard for full transparency

To enhance visibility and understanding of what’s happening between businesses and their trading partners, Celigo’s B2B Manager includes an EDI dashboard. This dashboard provides functional acknowledgment tracking, giving businesses real-time insight into the status of EDI communications and enabling full transparency into their trading relationships.

            Simplified configuration with EDI profiles

To ensure a successful EDI document exchange, it’s essential to configure data points like qualifiers, IDs, and delimiters correctly between you and your trading partners. Celigo has introduced EDI profiles, a centralized resource within the platform that simplifies configuration and minimizes errors.

By selecting a trading profile when setting up import or export flows, B2B Manager automatically handles the necessary transaction configurations, reducing the time spent on manual setup and validation.

Seamless translation and mapping of EDI data

Proper integration of ANSI X12 or EDIFACT EDI documents into ERP, WMS, or other business systems requires translating the EDI text data into a format that business applications can read and process. Celigo’s B2B Manager translates EDI data into JSON, Celigo’s native language, allowing for easy manipulation and transfer of data within integration flows.

The Celigo file parser has also been enhanced with new validation rules that can be toggled on or off. It allows real-time mapping assistance through trading profiles, automatically validating sample data and simplifying the configuration of the source or destination within the flow.

            Prebuilt trading partner connectors

To help businesses connect, test, and transact faster with their EDI trading partners, Celigo offers prebuilt trading partner connectors. These connectors come with pre-mapped transactions based on the trading partner’s requirements, reducing the complexity of setup.

Much like how you can connect to platforms like Amazon Seller Central or Shopify via API, you can now integrate with dozens of common trading partners using pre-built connectors.

When adding a source or destination to an integration flow, you’ll see a new Trading Partners connector type menu, which allows you to select the appropriate trading partner document or a generic specification to add to your EDI integration flow.

            Take back control of EDI

Celigo’s B2B Manager offers a comprehensive EDI solution that streamlines the integration process, enhances data accuracy, and provides real-time insights into trading partner communications.

With prebuilt connectors, configurable validation rules, and support for multiple connectivity options, B2B Manager helps businesses reduce implementation timelines, lower costs, and scale EDI operations.
