Job Title: Lead Product Manager - Human-in-the-Loop (HITL)
Location: Hyderabad, India / Remote, India
Department: Product Management
Reports To: Portfolio Strategist
Job Overview
Celigo is seeking a Lead Product Manager to lead execution of our Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) initiative. You will be accountable for making our automation platform human-centered, so automated flows and AI Agents can confidently hand off work to a human when judgment or approval is needed, provide a clear and intuitive interaction, and then seamlessly continue the workflow once the task is completed.
This senior individual contributor role requires a balanced focus on two distinct customer user personas: empowering the "Builder" with intuitive tools to configure complex human-in-the-loop steps, and providing the "Business User" with a frictionless experience to take action within their preferred collaboration tools.
You will lead your product team through the full lifecycle of Problem Discovery, User Experience Design, and Product Delivery to ensure we ship capabilities that are valuable, usable, and feasible.
You will partner with Engineering, UX Design, UX Research/Data Analytics and Content Strategy, setting a quality bar for clarity, accessibility, and trust across configuration, notifications, and task completion experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy and Vision
- Drive the HITL Strategy: Execute the product strategy for Human-in-the-Loop capabilities, ensuring alignment with Celigo’s broader "Agentic AI" objectives and customer needs.
- AI-Enhanced UX: Leverage AI-driven insights to streamline the integration experience, specifically focusing on how AI can assist builders in configuring human-centric workflows.
- Market Awareness: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends in process orchestration, stateful workflows, and the evolving role of humans in agentic and automated ecosystems.
Product Development and Execution
- Lifecycle Ownership: Own the full lifecycle of HITL features, defining requirements for how workflows pause, capture human input, and resume while maintaining high performance and data integrity.
- Define Business Lifecycle Logic: Expand the platform capabilities to include stateful workflows—defining the logic for "pauses" (TTL, escalation paths, and triggers) and "resumes" (required data mapping, validation, and success criteria).
- Requirements & User Stories: Develop detailed Product Requirements Documents and user stories for the visual form builder, task routing, and inbox experiences.
- Orchestrate Product Forums: Oversee roadmap and product team sessions to align on the end-to-end user journey and experience quality, balancing user needs, accessibility, security, and scalability while guiding the team from discovery through design validation to delivery.
- User Experience: Work with your product team (UX and engineering) to research and implement enhancements to improve the configuration and troubleshooting experience for both builders and end-users.
Accessibility and localization readiness: Ensure HITL experiences meet usability, accessibility, and clarity standards, including structured content patterns for forms and notifications, and localization readiness.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Influence
- Strategic Communication: Lead communication between engineering, sales, marketing, and support, providing clear updates on roadmap priorities and potential technical risks.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Ensure roadmap priorities are informed by internal stakeholders while coordinating with operations teams to manage communication regarding platform updates or vendor changes.
- Pod-Level Collaboration: Partner closely with UX Design, User Research, Content Strategy and Engineering teams to define HITL end-to-end experiences, ensuring a cohesive "app-within-an-app" feel in social collaboration tools (Slack and Teams).
- Product Team Collaboration: Operate as a day to day triad leader with partners in Engineering, UX Design, User Research/Analytics, and Content Strategy, aligning on problem framing, success metrics, and acceptance criteria.
- Customer Discovery and Research: Partner with User Research on running structured research including usability testing of the builder and task experiences, concept validation for pause and resume mental models, and iterative prototype testing before build.
Customer Focus
- Customer Engagement: Directly engage with customers to collect feedback and communicate roadmap priorities and ensure that HITL capabilities meet real-world business needs.
- Insight-Driven Refinement: Leverage customer insights and data analytics to refine functional and non-functional requirements.
- Collaborate in Product Advisory Councils (PACs): Facilitate PACs to validate that our Human Review Step capabilities account for complex manual approvals and non-deterministic AI challenges.
- AI-Driven Onboarding: Use AI to enhance the customer onboarding experience, simplifying the process for our builder persona to create their first human-in-the-loop flow.
Risk Management and Problem Solving
- Executive Updates: Provide regular updates to senior leadership on the health of the HITL agenda and major technical or adoption risks.
- Strategic Trade-offs: Balance trade-offs between engineering investment, customer impact, user experience and technical requirements to ensure long-term stability for long-running processes.
- Identify & Mitigate Risks: Proactively manage risks across state-management updates, API changes, and high-concurrency performance optimizations.
Technical Leadership
- Subject Matter Expertise: Provide guidance on process orchestration and HITL domains, providing guidance and best practices for how users should manage stateful integrations at scale.
- Culture of Innovation: Encourage collaboration and innovation in how Celigo approaches human-machine collaboration and integration product management.
- Mentorship: Support and mentor peers in understanding best practices for designing and maintaining high-performing, user-centric orchestration tools.
Success Measurement
- Be accountable for customer outcomes and measurable adoption across both personas (Builder and Business User), including activation, task completion, workflow success rate, and operational health of long-running HITL processes. You will define the success metrics, instrumentation plan, and experimentation approach needed to continuously improve usability, trust, and efficiency.
- Use instrumentation and funnel analysis to identify drop off points, time to action bottlenecks, and configuration errors, then prioritize improvements that measurably increase successful completions and reduce support burden.
Positioning and GTM
- Partner with Product Marketing and GTM to define positioning, packaging, and adoption strategy for HITL capabilities, including templates, onboarding paths by persona, and enablement plans that drive repeatable customer value.
Skills and Qualifications
Experience
- 7+ years in Product Management, specifically within SaaS, workflow automation, or B2B software.
- Experience with "Builder" Tools: A track record of shipping configuration-based products, such as visual flow designers, form builders, or no-code interfaces.
- Two-Sided Product Experience: Proven ability to manage complex requirements for different user personas within a single product ecosystem.
- Modern Product Operating Models: Experience working in an environment that emphasizes Problem Discovery and Solution Design as precursors to high-quality Product Delivery.
- Demonstrated success partnering deeply with UX Design, UX Research, and Content Strategy to deliver high trust, frictionless experiences across onboarding, configuration, and complex task completion flows.
Core Competencies
- Outcome-Driven Execution: You turn validated customer problems into shippable, measurable solutions by defining clear success metrics, instrumenting the experience, and using telemetry plus customer feedback to ensure that outcomes improve after release.
- Technical Product Leadership: You partner deeply with Engineering on the hard parts of workflow and platform behavior, including state management and data-mapping. You use logs, analytics, and operational signals to diagnose issues, make tradeoffs explicit, and keep decisions anchored in customer impact.
Product Team Leadership: You lead a high-functioning triad with Engineering, UX Design, UX Research, and Content Strategy to align on problem framing, evidence, prototypes, and usability validation before build. You keep cross-functional stakeholders aligned through delivery with clear priorities, measurable milestones, and a shared quality bar for trust, clarity, and frictionless task completion.
