Celigo AAPI Public Statement

We write today with profound grief regarding the increase in hate crimes targeting the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community.

At this time, Celigo would like to express our solidarity with the communities impacted.

We understand that there has been a recent, significant rise in attacks on the AAPI community (more info here). We would like to take this opportunity to first express our grief, and then to reiterate that these attacks are completely unacceptable. Here at Celigo, we do not condone any form of discrimination, including but not limited to overt acts of racism, hate speech, or gender-based discrimination. We are committed to ensuring our community feels safe and comfortable regardless of race and gender. Our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives can be found here.

Additionally, Celigo’s Taking A Stand Committee is working to provide colleagues with an educational background regarding the history and implications of attacks on the AAPI community. We aim to inform employees about the intersectional dimensions of discrimination and inequalities in the workplace.

Again, hate crimes are egregious and we are grief stricken by the deadly events that have taken place recently. Below, we have listed several action steps to support those impacted by the rise in hate crimes towards to AAPI community:

  1. Check in with family/friends in the AAPI community. Let them know you are thinking about them. Ask how you can best support them.
