With shoppers expecting free shipping for their online purchases, eCommerce retailers must juggle shopper expectations for speedy delivery times against high shipping costs. During the holidays, it becomes even more important for retailers to use the most cost-effective shipping method that will deliver packages by December 25th but will not put a drag on margins.

Shipping Deadline Calendar

To assist eCommerce companies find the right balance, we have created a holiday shipping calendar for U.S. shipments. Quickly see cut-off dates for Christmas delivery when using FedEx, UPS, and USPS. For example, December 11th is the cut-off date to use FedEx SmartPost and December 19th is the last day to use USPS First-Class Mail for delivery by Christmas. Expedited delivery service must be shipped by December 21st or 22nd. FedEx and UPS offer same-day delivery on Christmas day but delivery locations are limited — and shipping costs can be quite high.

In addition to the shipping calendar, we have created other resources to help your eCommerce business over the holidays. Check it out on our new eCommerce Holiday Resources page.
