With SuiteWorld ’14 now in the past, we are proud to announce that two of our Celigo team members contributed towards the winning project in NetSuite.org’s Hackathon 4Good. The intent and spirit of the Hackathon 4Good Contest was to encourage participants to work together, have fun and prototype creative, innovative solutions to the challenges presented by NetSuite.org’s charity partners.

Our project was for Kiva, a micro lending non-profit, and the application was to visualize the impact of Donor Advised Funds for the bigger lenders who donate to Kiva (possibly financial institutions and money managers). The app imports transaction data from Kiva to NetSuite, aggregating other information about recipients and geo location info.

After the data is imported into NetSuite, Kiva can then generate an interactive report for targeted members in their own organization. The visualization we created consists of a motion chart that can be dynamically filtered to visualize the trends of lending and filter them by amount, location, time or gender. It also consists of a heat map of countries where funds are allocated.

Our kudos go out to the two Celigo employees of the four person hackathon team, Chief Technology Officer, Scott Henderson, and Senior Software Engineer, Yang Jiang [both featured in image, above]. We congratulate you both for contributing to a great cause!
