Generic vs. application-specific scripts
The main Script Menu (the icon right of the menu bar) displays the system-wide scripts. Application-specific scripts are only visible when the relevant application is selected. For example, the NetSyncX script for Apple Mail, which is called Save to NetSuite (Apple Mail), is only visible when Apple Mail is active.
In addition, some applications have their own Script Menu. For example, Entourage has its Script Menu in its Help menu. If the NetSyncX scripts are installed, the script Save to NetSuite (Microsoft Entourage) is present.
Supplied Scripts
The NetSyncX application bundle contains scripts for Apple Mail and Entourage. Once the scripts have been installed as described above, they can be found in the following locations relative to your home directory:
Apple Mail: ~/Library/Scripts/Applications/Mail
Microsoft Entourage: ~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Entourage Script Menu Items
These scripts perform the following actions:
- Obtain details of the selected e-mail
- Open NetSyncX (or make it active if it is already open)
- Send subject, message and sender details for the selected e-mail to NetSyncX.
- Start a search for the sender.
NetSyncX dictionary
NetSyncX exports its own suite of recognized commands. Open the Applications > AppleScript > Script Editor, select File>Open Dictionary in the menu, and select NetSyncX subsequently to view these commands.
