NetSyncX: Introduction, Roadmap & Feedback
We’re very excited to announce the availability of NetSyncX, a product that keeps your Mac in sync with NetSuite. NetSyncX syncs your data between iCal, Apple Mail, Apple Addressbook, and Microsoft Entourage with NetSuite. Please see our web site here for more details on the product. As many of you already know, NetSyncX was previously developed and marketed by a NetSuite partner named Xspansion, and Celigo recently acquired the rights to this product.
We have already received many questions regarding the status of the product, current release, what’s planned for the future, and more. Given that we are currently in the midst of product development, this is an opportune moment to share some details of our product roadmap.
A 30-day trial version of NetSyncX is now available on our web site. We hope to release several new versions of NetSyncX over the next few months. These releases will be roughly cover the following functionality:
- Phase I: Re-architecture of some key components including installation, preferences, and the underlying infrastructure, with the overall goal of a robust and easy-to-setup application.
- Phase II: Complete redesign of the user interface.
- Phase III: Add several new features, including scheduled sync, e-mail attachments, and support for other record types.
We plan to offer a version of NetSyncX that’s available for purchase by approximately mid-April.
We very much want your feedback! If you have downloaded the trial version, or are a former user of the product when it was offered by Xspansion, or are a general Mac/NetSuite user, we would love to hear from you. Please let us know what works well, and what does not. We would also appreciate you providing us with a wish list of features that you would like to see in the product.
Since we’re in the midst of product development, we would prefer to have your feedback as soon as possible, so do contact us as soon as you can. You can leave your comments below in the comments section, or you can send us an e-mail at netsyncx@celigo.com.
Thanks

Hi,
My company uses Entourage and NetSuite (and some people use Outlook – I use both as run Windows in Parallels) so I had been using the old integration from Xpansion for the Mac side. As you point out above, it is lacking in features.
You may know that NetSuite delivers a similar integration for Outlook users free. All the functionality that exists there (saving attachments, being able to save into different record types like cases) is very good. The one thing that the NetSuite Outlook integration doesn’t let you do is edit the email message that gets saved. So every time you have to save an entire email chain which gets overwhelming and confusing when you go back to review the messages in NetSuite.
My suggestion is to make the functionality just like the Outlook version, but keep being able to edit the message content before saving (which you currently can do in NetSyncX as you know). That would bring the best of both integrations together and make a very useful product as our company uses it.
I do think someone will be getting in touch from our company about licenses. And thank you for keeping this product alive, and even committing to make it better! It really is a life saver for NetSuite productivity.

James,
Thanks for your feedback. We have entered an enhancement (#926) request to provide the ability to edit an email prior to attaching it in NetSuite.
Thanks

I would really love to be able to drag a contact from my Mac Address Book into NetSuite. All my card scanning software is integrated nicely with my mac AB and it would be wonderful to be able to drag/sync contacts in that direction.
Any hope?

We have been using Netsuite for the last 16 months and been using MAC OS for ever, running the latest updates of Entourage.
When running the calendar synchro, NetSyncX does not seem to take into account the start date and is running synchronization from….the date earth was created!
Hope the upcoming update will fix this.
